Background

ZAI was founded in 1951 by award winning Polish engineer, Michael Zakrewski, as a multi – disciplinary architecture & engineering practice in Durban, South Africa.
Company expansion resulted in the founding of an Australian office in early 2002 by ZAI Architectural Divisional Director, Robin Herbert.

In 2009, the Australian practice became an independent entity under the directorship of Robin Herbert & Eng-Kien Tan.
